The Intolerant Days Are Yet To Come

For last few days, I have been with some foreigners along with some Indian friends. One day I was browsing the internet and opposite to me was sitting the two ladies from UK with our Indian friend who was from West Bengal. They three were colleagues too. They were talking to each other when I heard one of these ladies called him a ‘Bengali’.Then I started listening to them. Our Indian friend (ya the Bengali) responded.’I don't know what’s wrong with people’.I was expecting an awesome speech on Indian nationalism and an appraisal of the ‘unity among diversities’ from him.He continued,’I mean why people keep calling me a Bengali? look at me and listen.Do I even sound like a Bengali?’(Well his accent was quite good,in fact similar to that of native speakers).I was bit disappointed and got back to what I was doing.I thought the chatter is going personal like if my friends call me nick names to tease me  then I will complain like a child. But then came the shock of my lifetime, he was continuing and at some point he said, ‘In fact we wrote the fucking national anthem!’.He was too loud that almost seven persons in that room heard that.I looked at him (well I stared at him as if I saw a Pakistani saying that).Mr.X, the American ,who was sitting at next table to me  heave a big sigh. One of the two ladies asked ,‘The fucking national anthem huh?’.The others where ‘young Indians’ and so they minded their own business. When I was staring, the ‘Bengali’ seemed bit embarrassed. After this incident I used to hear him saying ‘Fuck’ innumerable times.Of course not with ‘the national anthem’.Well that’s one incident.

Four days ago I read the news about supreme court considering a public interest litigation (PIL) against the no women policy at the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple. This issue has been in courts often ,through out these years. The custom of prohibiting women entry to the temple is referred to as inequality towards women rights or even as ‘hindu fascism’.Recently the Indian Young Lawyers’ Association filed the PIL against this custom. And the Honorable Supreme Court of India remarked “The temple cannot prohibit entry (women), except on the basis of religion. Unless you have a constitutional right, you cannot prohibit entry. Anyway, we will examine it on February 8.”
‘The Hindu’ reported it as -
He is reported to have said, “Unless you [i.e. the governing board of the shrine] have a constitutional right to prohibit women entry, you cannot prevent them from worshipping at the shrine.” (The he referred to here is the judge and this is the exact fonts and words as seen in The Hindu’s website)As we all know the governing body of the shrine ,ie the Travancore Devaswom Board only administrate  things except the rituals. The ‘Thanthri’ who is considered as the deity’s guru (as said in Thanthrasasthra) or father, is the apex authority to decide on the rituals regarding the temple.Well just showing how misleading these newspapers (having specific agendas) are.Coming back to IYLA’s PIL,its still in the court and the apex court is setting up an amicus curiae to  look into this matter.Law will take its course.(At the end the amicus curiae will suggest that lets do some other serious works, this is just a matter of religion.)
Mr.NaushadAhmed Khan is the president of the IYLA and is under threat(quite natural) for filing such a PIL.While he said one of the woman advocates in the IYLA filed the PIL.Well whatever is the truth , I would like to say that it’s a well planned game.Even if the PIL fails they could raise another issue ,ie look what the poor muslim advocated suffered, the hindu fanatics (Nowadays people use the abbreviation RSS ,it takes a lot of time to type hindu fascism or whatever right?)just don't let him live peacefully, this is what the central government assured the minorities?.Im not just writing down my intuitions.Things are just going to happen like this as it happened in the kiss of love movement.
Sarcasm?
Oh come on ! I'm a young Indian. I should think progressively.I need every women, regardless of caste ,creed, religion or even menstrual status ,should visit Shabarimala.Oh well I could give some information too. Sabarimala is situated in the Periyar Tiger Reserve in the Western Ghats of Kerala. It is surrounded by eighteen mountains which has dense forest.Dense means where Tigers live, you know.Well  wild elephants and other wild animals are also found there. An average of over 100 million pilgrims visit Sabarimala every year. Its just like assuming how many stars are there in the sky.Taking it for granted an average of 25 lakh people visit Sabarimala per day during the ‘Mandala pooja’.Now,if you really want to visit then take care of some silly things too.As there is dense forest cover, you may be abducted and slightly get raped. If you are lucky enough then you could be killed too.You may have to wait a bit, closely packed inside the police barricades, for few hours. For example 26-30 hours. While then your private parts, which may touch others possibly a male human being or might get touched, are your responsibility (Not IYLA’s).Ah never mind these are silly things. You are going to do much bigger things like the hiking is so fun at last the ‘darshan’,your heart will be overwhelmed!
(Devotion, lust, love, greed, calmness these are all just states of mind(well defenitely not poverty) and an ordinary human being can’t control the mind that easy. With the 41 days of ‘Vritham’ an ordinary man could control the mind to an extend.I have seen men just putting on the ‘mala’ in the morning and visiting Sabarimala in the afternoon and by night they’re home!Even then the chicken he ate last night would be there inside the body.Such a person wont think twice before touching a lady’s private parts.)

Those news we see and read as titled ‘Intolerance In India’ are not the real Intolerant incidents.Incidents mentioned above as well as similar incidents which are not magnified by the media are the real intolerant issues which this great nation has to suffer in the near future.
